Course Title: Naval Science 2&3

Course Description: Personal Finance 

Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of Naval Science I.  (Note that Naval Science II and III may be taken in any sequence.)  

 

Course Objectives:


A. Terminal Objective:   

Demonstrate an understanding of Personal Financial Planning

Enabling Objectives:

1. Examine why its important to have a plan for your money.

2. Analyze SMART Goals.

3. Be able to construct a budget.

4. Evaluate the importance of paying yourself first

B.Terminal Objective:

1. Demonstrate proper wearing of uniform and military bearing IAW CFM.

2. Demonstrate proper drill and military bearing IAW CFM.

3. Demonstrate Physical Training IAW CRM

 

Course Schedule:

Monday& Tuesday- Academics (We will study Naval Weapons)

 

Course Schedule:

Monday& Tuesday- Academics (We will study weather)

Wednesday- Thursday- Uniform Inspection and Drill(Cadets demonstrate leadership skills)

Friday- Physical Training

 

Grading Criteria:

Uniform Grade:

  • Accounts for 30% of your grade.

  • I will average approximately 9 uniform grades per marking period.

  • This grade is based on the proper wearing and maintenance of your uniform as determined by formal inspection.

  • You are required to wear your uniform throughout the entire school day on Uniform day. Failure to do so will affect your uniform grade.

Academics:

  • Accounts for 30% of your grade

  • I will average the daily academic grades with the exam results per marking period.

  • This grade is determined by classroom participation, homework and test results.

  • Daily grade will be 97%. The grade can increase or decrease based on performance, and military bearing. The daily grade will account for 50% of the academic grade.

  • Tests, formal papers and projects will account for 50% of the academic grade.

Activities (Physical Training and Drill):

  • Accounts for 30% of your grade

  • I will average 18academic grades per marking period.

  • This grade is determined by dressing out for the event and the level of participation during the event.

Leadership Accounts for 10% of your grade per marking period.
