At Millington Municipal Schools and Millington Central High School, our goal is to ensure every student receives an outstanding education. Your student’s regular attendance plays a great role in achieving this outstanding education.
Recognizing the importance of student attendance, Tennessee has started tracking chronic absenteeism, which means missing more than 10% of the school year,
in schools across the state.
While we realize some absences are unavoidable due to health problems or other circumstances, please be advised absences can add up quickly. We also know when students miss too much class time, regardless of the reason, can fall behind academically. The impact of missing class is the same whether the absences are excused or unexcused.
We want your child to be successful in school. If you have any questions or need more information regarding our attendance procedures or chronic absenteeism, please contact the school.
