Hello My Name Is...
Andrew Taylor
New assistant
principal Andrew Taylor arrived in Millington by way of LeMoyne College and
Freed Hardeman. After earning his undergraduate degree, Taylor found
inspiration in the field of education. “I first started out as a substitute at
a real low school and helping those children made me want to pursue this career
even more,” said Taylor. To pursue a career in education, Taylor earned a
degree in business and continued into educational leadership. This year, Taylor
oversees textbooks, buses, the advanced placement program, and discipline for
all the young men of MCHS.
As a leader, Taylor
offers a unique perspective on the Millington Municipal School system. “I see
our schools as pioneers. We accomplish what needs to be accomplished and we
have many great new students and teachers. It’s more of a family culture,” says
Taylor. An example of his contribution to the family culture of the high school
is the ice bucket challenge. Taylor’s suggestion to raise money by
participating in the ice bucket challenge led to over a dozen teachers and Mr.
Durley being doused during the M&M Bowl pep rally. Given his ideas so far,
Taylor’s leadership is much appreciated by the students!
