    3. Mr. Kreston Smith has tutored students of all ages since 1993 on school band instruments, guitar and piano and later founded Bartlett Music Academy Inc. in 2002 while completing his degree in Music Education at the University of Memphis. Prior to MCHS, Mr. Smith was the Director of Bands at Covington High and Crestview Middle School from 2014-2019 and was the General Music teacher at Munford Elementary from 2010-2014.
  2. What is the focus of the band program at MCHS?
    1. A focus on building unity in the program; a noticeable presence at athletic and community events; high school peer to peer mentoring at the middle school in an effort to grow the high school program; and a push towards preparing students for higher education. Music can be the vehicle to full-scholarships for non-music and music majors.
  3. What are you passionate about outside of school?
    1. My family and playing music!

    1. Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, to protect and prosper you not harm you."
  5. What is your biggest piece of advice for incoming and graduating high school students?
    1. Strive to be better today than you were yesterday, because procrastination is your enemy.
